All summer long, the Pembina Hills Arts Centre will be featuring our local artists' paintings, photographs and drawings.
The July and August exhibition in galleries one and two will be the Members' Summer Showcase.
Here are some other events on the arts and community calender.
Summer art classes
Don't let your kids get bored this summer! Starting July 12, the arts centre is offering five weekly art classes.
The activities range from Dirty Hands Clay Week to Music 'n Lyrics Week at B&D Music. And, of course, there is arts & crafts week!

When Laura Ann Thiessen was in grade three, her family went on a vacation to Washington D.C., and Laura's mom gave her a disposable camera, and she's been hooked on snapping pictures ever since.
She took her photography training in Southern California where she was raised.
She's a big fan of using natural light.
"Thankfully, digital makes using natural light possible even in our short winters here in Manitoba."
Two years ago, Thiessen and her husband Derek moved to Winkler from California and had their son Luke. Since his arrival, Thiessen has been able to spend more time learning the design end of photography including using Photoshop. She loves photographing people outdoors or in their homes.
In the last year, she's become more interested in abstract photography and has been experimenting in that area, but people are her real passion. She loves to photograph people outside and be challenged with finding the right light and the most expressive location for each individual.
She has been inspired by Julia Margaret Cameron's statement "my aspirations are to ennoble photography and to secure for it the character and uses of high art by combining the real and ideal and sacrificing nothing of the truth by all possible devotion to poetry and beauty."
Thiessen can be found at community events like the Back 40 Festival and the Corn & Apple Festival making personalized postcards.
Her work is featured in the Pembina Hills Art Gallery & Gift Shop and online as well at her www.lauraannthiessenphotography.ca website.
